FAR INSPECTIONS
Mortgage Field Services Inspector
FAR INSPECTIONS is seeking motivated individuals to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders. This is an independent contractor (1099) position, offering predictable, full‑time or supplemental income with a flexible schedule.
Location: Reno, NV (county‑level engagement; you may cover one or two counties depending on volume).
Responsibilities
Complete most inspections within 5–6 minutes (most are exterior only).
Submit inspection reports within 4 days of assignment.
Determine occupancy status and report general property conditions using a mobile app.
Take 9+ photos with brief comments; may include interior photos in vacant properties.
Drive extensively in the assigned territory, making multiple stops per day.
Requirements
Reliable vehicle with good fuel mileage (you will pay for your own gas).
Computer with internet access.
Smartphone (Android or iPhone).
Printer.
Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a standard background check.
Pay and Hours This is a 1099 role. Each inspection is paid a flat rate that varies by county; overall earnings approximate $30–$40 per hour. Depending on county volume, you may complete 20–500 inspections monthly, working 2–30 hours per week. There is no mileage reimbursement beyond the per‑inspection flat fee.
Higher rates are offered in lower‑volume counties; higher volume counties provide more inspections but lower rates.
More experience and coverage can increase earnings.
