The
AssistantSuperintendent’s responsibilitiesinclude but are not limitedto:helpingthe Superintendent manage the execution of commercial construction projects, enforcingsafety and legal regulations to ensure a safe jobsite, andcommunicatingwith subcontractors and field staff to ensure adherence to schedules, plans, and specifications.
The efforts ofthe Asst. Superintendent will aid in successfully completing projects on time and within budget, while achieving the highest level of quality. This individual will be an integral part of the entire project team to ensure successful completion of projects.

Working under the direction of the Construction Superintendent,assistwith scheduling, coordinating,and managingsubcontractors, vendor deliveries and building inspections within predeterminedtimeframe, on budget or below, with high quality and great attention to detail.
Help write and manage subcontract agreements andpurchaseorders.
Help Superintendents oversee jobsiteforemen
Managesmultiple projects simultaneously.
Maintain safe work sites for volunteers and subcontractors, ensuring that all sites are compliant with OSHA guidelines.
Ability to read plans,surveysand related documentsrelativeto site
Manage all RFIs, submittals, contract documents, SKS, ASI, and correspondence withdesignteam.
Assist Superintendent with job costing, owner billings, sub billings, and change order management.
Proactively manage the jobusing intelligence, experience, and common sense.
Attend the preconstructionmeeting with theSuperintendent,Owner, Architect, and the PEC team.
Be an advocate for the job. Make sure that it is alwaysmoving forward.
Review plans and specifications toidentifythe types and grades of materials and equipment needed and to ensure compliance with project requirements.
Review the estimate to understand how the budgetfitstothe construction andtime frameof the projects assigned.
Support the Superintendent’spre-job meetings with the Project Manager to review scope of work,manpowerrequirements, work sequence,special requirements, and safety awareness.
Support the Superintendent’scollaborationwith the Project Managerthroughout the full project cycle.
Review buyoutlogto ensure all scopes arecovered.
Review the Superintendent’s budget so that you are aware of the actualmanpowerand workdays that have been budgeted for all tasks.
Review all subcontracts so that theyare aware of what scope isinevery subcontract.
Help oversee and manage Foremen and crew(s).
In collaboration with Superintendent, coordinate the job site layoutas well asall required temporary facilities for theproject site. (Trailer, Conex, power, water,portapotties, data, fence, PEC banners,etcetera.)
Coordinatetimelyinspections.
Monitor and log daily project activities and milestones to include uploading photos and reports to Procore daily.
Update the project schedule monthly with the Project Manager and Project Engineer.
Ensure that there is anSDS folder with the actual hazardson the jobsite.
Read and interpret construction documents andidentifyissues and discrepancies in documentation.
Participate inweekly subcontractor coordination meetingsandweekly OACmeeting.
Review weekly labor costs with the Project Manager.
Schedule pre-work meetings with all subs, to go over scope andsubmittals. To beassistedby the Project Manager and Project Engineer.
Fill out and follow the concrete pre-pour checklist. Coordinate allconcrete pours.
Prepare daily Job Hazard Analysis withour labor, and with the subcontractors.
Ensure that the State Fire Marshall is scheduled at least 1 month prior to the needed final inspection.
Skills, Knowledge, Experience, & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in constructionorrelated field, or a minimum of 2years experiencesupportingconstruction project managers or superintendents
Computer skillsincludingproficiencyin Microsoft Office, Procore, P6, Bluebeam, and other project management software.
Must ensure work is executed safelyin accordance withOSHA standards.
Musthaveexcellent attention to detail.
Must possessstrong written and verbal communication skills.
Musthave experience with all aspects of commercial construction.
Must be able to read and interpret construction documents andidentifyissues and discrepancies in the documents.
Must be proficient at multi-tasking and organizing activities to meet deadlines.
Must understand the technical requirements of the construction industry.
Must be knowledgeable of standard contracting procedures and practices.
Must be able to manage field supervisors and subcontractors.
Excellent time management skills
Mustmaintaina positive and professional working relationship with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and coworkers.
Must have or obtain OSHA 30 Hour Certification.
Must be a highly motivated, passionate, and creative team-player with ability to develop andmaintaincollaborative relationships with all levels within and external to the organization
Must own a working vehicle with valid Driver’s License
