Responsibilities As an

Assistant Retail Experience Manager

(ARXM), you’ll play a key leadership role in shaping store culture, supporting and managing daily operations, and delivering a consistent, world-class retail experience. You’ll work closely with the Retail Experience Manager (RXM) to help lead the team, energize the sales floor, and support the growth and development of our team of retail sales associates.

This hands-on role works closely with the RXM, and focuses on creating an exceptional customer journey while empowering team performance through training, coaching and daily direction. What You’ll Do:

Work in tandem with the RXM to manage and support the store

Manage the onboarding, new hire training and ongoing development of retail sales associates to ensure excellence in service and sales

Lead by example on the sales floor, delivering the Fleet Feet Outfitting Experience with energy and care

Act as a manager on duty, for both customers and staff, directing floor operations and assisting with real-time coaching

Foster a high-performance team culture by setting expectations, delegating, recognizing achievements and encouraging accountability

Provide clear communication across the team to ensure alignment on goals, priorities, and customer needs

Assist with scheduling changes, operational support, and the execution of store events and initiatives

Help resolve customer issues quickly and professionally, prioritizing satisfaction

Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and inclusive work environment

Qualifications

1 year of retail leadership experience in a customer-facing environment, required

Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Demonstrated ability to deliver an outstanding customer experience

Ability to train new employees, follow process and remain goal oriented

Leadership skills in coaching, team motivation, delegation, and conflict resolution

Proven experience with retail operations such as scheduling, inventory, and floor management

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including ability to communicate clearly and effectively with the RXM

Highly organized, capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting

Passionate about team development, recognition, and growth

Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and aligned with Fleet Feet’s mission and values

Capable of lifting and carrying 15–25+ lbs. and working on your feet in a retail setting

Additional Requirements Hours of work for this position may vary based on work schedule. Position requires moving around for periods of 2-4 hours without a rest break task sequencing, and using point-of-sale computers. Occasional moderate to heavy (10-25+lb) lifting and carrying, bending and reaching overhead may be required. Work environment includes substantial communication with customers, working in a retail environment with product displays and stockroom with inventory, and potentially slippery surfaces.
