POSITION :
Delta College seeks a Programs Director to provide programmatic oversight to Great Lakes Bay Michigan Works! team managers, provide strategic direction and implementation support for state driven programs, and to ensure programmatic outcomes goals for all programs are achieved. Successful candidate will be detail oriented and have strong oral and written communication skills. The role requires ability to travel to Michigan Works! service centers and businesses in the Great Lakes Bay Region and beyond to perform job duties. This is a grant funded position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING :
Supervise the Employment Services Manager & team, Business Services Manager & team and Trade Assistance team.
Maintain knowledge of, interpret, and implement program guidelines for multiple applications of TAA , ES and Business Services
Communicate and train team managers on program updates and requirements
Responsible for program and human resource management in the absence of any program manager
Review and synthesize data provided from internal reports, analysis and audits to determine programmatic improvements and achievement of goals
Work in close collaboration with the Chief Operating Officer of Great Lakes Bay Michigan Works! while implementing program improvements and new offerings
Ensure managers are in compliance with all program regulations
Actively participate in program audits
Responsible for monitoring program metric goals established by Great Lakes Bay Michigan Works! administration and provide accurate timely summary reports to Administration
Attend public events to provide program support and outreach as directed by Great Lakes Bay Michigan Works! Administration
Participate in strategic planning with Great Lakes Bay Michigan Works!
Report regularly to Director Workforce Strategies any human resource needs and program progress to ensure the best quality of customer service is delivered by Delta College employees on assignment
Serve as liaison between Delta College and Great Lakes Bay Michigan Works! program managers
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in business, management or related field
Evidence of intermediate skill level in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
Minimum of three years of experience in reading, interpreting, analyzing data and applying regulations, guidelines and/or laws
Minimum of five years supervisory experience
Demonstrated business acumen
Additional Experiences Considered
Master’s Degree in business, management or related field
6 + years of management work experience
Two or more years additional Michigan Works or other industry certifications for training in state or federal employer assistance programs
