Job Description The Credit Products Underwriter I – Commercial is primarily responsible for underwriting complex financial transactions in conjunction with CPU III, IV or CRMs, including the financing of investment real estate, owner‑occupied real estate, working capital, equipment, LBOs/acquisitions, healthcare‑related opportunities, as well as credits augmented with an SBA guarantee. The role also involves underwriting non‑complex requests independently. The Underwriter I provides product and industry expertise to clients by designing and executing solutions for complex clients. Industries and products offered are broad and require unique due diligence and analysis based on the type of business and structure. A high volume (50%+) of credit requests come from prospects, requiring additional due diligence and analysis. The Underwriter I manages multiple active credit requests from various Relationship Managers and geographic locations, prioritizing and managing time effectively. Client‑facing responsibilities include providing consultation to deliver integrated solutions. Good written and verbal communication skills are essential for interacting with Relationship Managers and BOKF personnel. The Underwriter I balances analysis, deal execution, and joint client calls with Relationship Managers to assist in generating revenue and profitability.

How You'll Spend Your Time
You will prepare financial underwriting for transactions that impact lending division profitability.
You will conduct credit analysis independently or with senior staff based on complexity.
You will provide recommendations on transaction structure to Relationship and Department Managers.
You will identify and document policy exceptions while gathering key customer information.
You will collaborate with credit approval officers to support analysis and conclusions.
You will assist in developing new credit business through joint calls with Relationship Managers.
You will prepare compliance reports, commitment documents, and present credit information to management.
Education & Experience Requirements This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of credit analysis/credit products underwriting experience; or 7+ years of equivalent work‑related experience.
Ability to clearly communicate and convey information and ideas through a variety of channels.
Ability to leverage a network of relationships with clients, relationship managers, and peers for support in achieving both individual and organizational goals.
General knowledge and understanding of credit principles, lending functions, loan analysis, and application of general credit policies.
Excellent organizational skills and meticulous work habits.
Ability to critically review work for errors and incorrect conclusions.
Ability to complete assignments quickly and efficiently with minimal direction.
Ability to proactively communicate with both colleagues and senior personnel.
Ability to work efficiently under limited timeframes.
General knowledge of loan documentation, loan policy and regulations.
General knowledge of the Loan Grading Process.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Advanced PC and spreadsheet software skills.
