Kitchen Staff Opportunity At Sposito's Pastie Shop
Sposito's Pastie Shop is seeking two (2) kitchen staff to work at W 1228 US 2W St. Ignace, Michigan 49781. The position will be full-time and seasonal during the dates of April 1, 2026 -- October 31, 2026. The duties of the kitchen staff include setting up and stocking the preparatory stations with all necessary supplies, preparing food for service, cooking menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff, keeping a sanitized and orderly environment, following all standard procedures for recipes and presentation, taking and recording temperature of food and food storage areas such as refrigerators and freezers; collecting used kitchenware from all areas and loading them into the dishwashing machines, washing certain kitchen utensils by hand, store dishes and equipment appropriately to maximize efficiency during peak hours, reporting any equipment issues such as technical/performance issues and removing the garbage regularly. Must have the ability to follow instructions and help with various tasks. Employees will work Mon-Sun, an average of 40 hrs/wk. Must be able to work any 8 hr shift between 8:00 am to 7:00 pm any day of the week, days off rotate, shifts vary, weekends and holidays may be required. This job requires continuous movement, regularly bending, lifting, pushing, must be flexible, be able to communicate in English and be a team player. No minimum education is required. The wage is $15.96 per hour. All deductions will be made from paychecks that are required by law. No other deductions will be taken unless voluntarily agreed upon. Overtime is available at a rate of $23.94. Wages will be paid bi-weekly on Thursday, and the employer will use a single workweek as its standard for computing wages due. On-the-job training is provided. The employer will provide workers with all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job at no charge. Daily transportation to and from the work is provided. This posting is being made in connection with an application for H-2B workers. The employer will reimburse the H-2B worker in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government, incurred by the H-2B worker. If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, the employer will reimburse the worker for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, employer will provide or pay for worker's reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distance involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of $16.28 per day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with receipts. Transportation (including one piece of luggage, meals, and to the extent necessary, lodging) Available housing is located at 112 Michigan St. Ignace MI 49781 at a cost of $100 per week. This deduction will be taken from the employee's check if agreed upon. This is optional and is not a condition of employment. Alternatively, the employer will assist workers to find suitable housing that is available within walking distance of the worksite.
