We’re hiring an Art Director who can turn health messages into bold, culturally relevant, emotionally resonant design. This is a leadership role for someone who can create at a high level while building a team that delivers with consistency and speed. Ideal for someone who can step into a growing team, bring structure and clarity, and raise the bar across both creative output and day-to-day production.
What You’ll Do
- Creative Direction & Visual Storytelling
- Develop advocacy-driven, modern design.
- Blend illustration, typography, and color for high-impact visuals.
- Build full design languages from simple client assets.
- Lead creative direction for collections and campaigns.
- Strengthen HealthMerch’s visual identity as we grow.
- Brand Systems, Templates & Standards
- Own all brand guidelines, templates, typography rules, and color systems.
- Build reusable systems that increase speed and consistency.
- Standardize mockup and print templates as volume scales.
- Leadership, Mentorship & Production Management
- Lead both Production & Order Support and Marketing Creative teams.
- Start 50/50 production vs. creative; shift to 75% creative as systems mature.
- Manage overseas designers across multiple time zones.
- Provide steady leadership during team transitions.
- Set clear expectations for turnaround times, daily output, and workflow standards.
- This is a hands‑on role — you’ll design while elevating the team.
- Ensure all files meet print specs and internal standards.
- Own the quality, accuracy, and consistency of the team’s work.
- Prevent bottlenecks and keep work moving smoothly.
- Balance high‑volume production with long‑term creative direction.
- Lead with clear communication across time zones.
- Print & Merch Expertise
- Understand how design translates to apparel and hard goods.
- Support Sales with fast, accurate mockups for active deals.
- Partner with Marketing for campaigns, product launches, and digital visuals.
- Core Creative Skills
- Strong typography, layout, and illustration skills
- Confident with bold, high‑contrast color palettes
- Ability to turn health messages into visual statements
- Experience designing for diverse and advocacy‑driven communities

- Who You Are
- 5+ years in graphic design or art direction (promo/apparel/agency ideal)
- 2+ years leading or mentoring a creative team
- Expert in Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign
- Strong understanding of print production and vendor templates
- Clear communicator across time zones
