Job Overview

Vaisala Xweather is looking for a Sales Executive to join our local team for our Defense solutions in our Gaithersburg, Maryland office location. This will be a hybrid position with some travel expectations.

Responsibilities

As a part of our Vaisala Xweather sales organization, you will lead the development of business-to-business growth opportunities with mainly new clients in the DoD sector. Your work will expand our footprint in the U.S. and lead to engagements with a wide variety of companies and government organizations focused on Weather. This is your chance to make a real difference.

What will you bring?

  • Proven track record in business and sales toward public organizations in a partnership model.
  • Being an assertive salesperson, ready to find new leads and customers.
  • Constantly learning and hungry for knowledge on all the possibilities.
  • Background in meteorology, defense or governmental progressive clients, thus enabling effective communication with key stakeholders from business leaders to software engineers and data scientists (Cross‑Functional).
  • Previous experience in the weather industry is considered a real asset.
  • Governmental and Defense industry experience is considered mandatory for this role.
  • Minimum of 5 years of sales experience.
  • Ability / willingness to travel.
  • Experience working with different cultures, with foreign language skills considered nice to have.

Anticipated Salary Range

$110,000 - $135,000 base salary with our VaisalaXweatherSalesIncentiveplan. Salary is determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, we offer our employees a competitive benefits package which is outlined below. Please note that applications sent via email cannot be processed due to privacy reasons. The recruitment process consists of 2 or 3 meetings, including a discussion with the team members. This position will report to our VP of Sales, Marketing, Teppo Kuisma.
