Business Tax Services – Private Tax Partnerships – Manager at EY. The opportunity focuses on serving privately held companies, including family-owned and private equity-owned entities. The role involves a mix of tax compliance, planning, research, and client relationship management, with opportunities for progression to senior manager. Your Key Responsibilities
Support senior managers through partners in providing tax services, balancing time between compliance and planning, and interacting directly with clients. Prepare or review federal and state tax returns for U.S. partnerships, including foreign reporting for cross-border tax compliance (foreign partnerships, foreign corporations, foreign disregarded entities, and foreign affiliate reporting). Provide tax research, draft tax memoranda, and assist in quantitative modeling for private client tax advisory services. Identify and communicate significant tax matters to Managers and Senior Managers. Liaise with other service lines and subject matter professionals; build long-term client relationships and tailor services to client needs. Explain complex tax issues to non-tax professionals and clients; maintain and share technical knowledge. Manage, coach, and develop a team of tax professionals; review work and ensure access to tools and opportunities for growth. Identify and respond to risks and opportunities to improve services and processes. Skills and Qualifications
Required: Bachelor’s degree in a related field with tax, business, or financial planning experience. CPA certification or membership in The Bar. Excellent collaboration and negotiation skills; ability to challenge colleagues and stakeholders from diverse backgrounds. Minimum of 5 years of work experience in professional services or professional tax organization. Willingness to work in a balanced hybrid environment and travel as needed. Preferred: Commitment to continuing learning. Proficiency with tax software such as RIA, CCH IntelliConnect, OneSource, BNA or Lexis Nexis. Experience with Gift, Estate and Trust tax planning and compliance is a plus. Experience in managing, coaching, and mentoring junior colleagues. What We Look For
