B&D Industrial is seeking a SolidWorks Operator to join our team. This position involves drafting parts for manufacture in a gearbox rebuild shop. The operator will measure parts with calipers, micrometers, angle finders, hardness testers, and other devices, then create manufacturing drawings in SolidWorks to reproduce identical parts. FARO Arm CMM technology may also be used to measure parts. The operator will collaborate with on-site mechanics and engineers to determine which components must be drawn. This position reports to the Director – GRS Technical Services. Location: West Monroe, LA Employment type: Full-time Expected schedule: 8:00–17:00 or 7:30–16:30; overtime may be required Responsibilities
Use measuring instruments to dimension and identify machine parts Create 3D models and 2D drawings of parts in SolidWorks to reproduce the same part Verify that dimensions are correct using 2D manufacturing drawings as a guide Use FARO Arm CMM technology to measure parts Apply industry standards to determine tolerances of drawing dimensions Candidate Requirements
HS Diploma or GED Successful candidates must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug screen, and have an acceptable 3-year Motor Vehicle Report as required by company policy Qualifications
Proficient in SolidWorks software, including 3D models, assemblies, 2D drawings, and simulation (certification a plus) Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel Ability to read and comprehend manufacturing drawings and industry standards Experience with micrometers, calipers, and other measuring instruments Experience with FARO CAM2 Software is a plus Work Environment & Benefits
