The Arlington Housing Authority (AHA) is hiring a full‑time Property Manager to oversee affordable housing operations. The role requires strong organizational skills, knowledge of affordable housing programs, and excellent communication abilities.
Job Summary Full‑time, 37.5‑hour work week. Salary range: $65,000 – $75,000 per year, commensurate with experience. Benefits include vacation, sick days, medical, dental, life, and optional long‑term disability insurance.
Responsibilities
Administer waiting lists for conventional programs and screen applicants.
Verify income, prepare leases, and orient new residents.
Conduct unit inspections, schedule maintenance, and ensure timely turnover of vacant units.
Perform rent re‑certifications for all conventional housing programs.
Schedule conferences for households with “for cause” lease violations and coordinate with legal counsel for pre‑trial eviction procedures.
Provide social service referrals to households in crisis.
Prepare vacancy and turnover reports as required and perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, or a related field.
Minimum of three years of property management experience, preferably in affordable housing.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to learn other software programs.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, customer service orientation, and attention to detail.
Ability to work with people from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds.
Bilingual language skills a plus.
