Job Summary This hybrid position requires working onsite two days per week. You will be the key contact and subject‑matter expert for all contract‑related activities—leading negotiations, managing contract lifecycles, and ensuring compliance while collaborating with stakeholders to drive strategic outcomes.

Essential Functions

Manage the contract development and negotiations process for provider network initiatives; enter and maintain current information in the internal contract repository and database.

Create and execute network development plans and deploy strategies to move providers to desired contract terms according to guidelines and standards.

Serve as the principal negotiator for all assigned contracts; conduct contract review meetings, develop reports on milestones and performance, and inform internal customers of progress.

Interface routinely with hospital, PHO, and PO leadership on an independent basis while navigating political sensitivities.

Work with stakeholders on negotiation decisions that affect legal, regulatory, cost target, payment and pricing methodologies; facilitate implementation with the PIM team.

Develop a customer‑focused, service‑based approach to stakeholder engagement, cultivating cross‑organizational relationships.

Represent contracting at external and joint operating committee meetings; oversee network expansion and physician recruitment within a geographic area as required.

Provide mentoring to less experienced team members and model customer‑service excellence.

Qualifications Required:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business administration, health‑care administration, psychology, finance, or health and human services.

5 years of experience negotiating and managing contract lifecycles for payers or providers.

7 years of proven experience leading negotiations independently or heading a provider contracting team.

Experience in finance or contract management and knowledge of CMS and commercial pricing practices.

Preferred:

Master’s degree in a related field.

Experience working with legal staff.

Proficiency in best practices for contract negotiation tactics and strategies.

Working knowledge of antitrust laws.
