Our client has a 40-year track record in real estate ownership, value enhancement, portfolio and asset management and ground-up development across multiple market cycles. The firm’s origins date back to 2003, when its founders established a platform focused on direct investments in opportunistic and value-add real estate investments via partnerships with multiple large family office investors.
Key Responsibilities
The Director, Investor Relations will build, manage, and scale the investor relations function focused on non-institutional capital (i.e. HNW individuals, family offices, private wealth channels). This person will act as a bridge between the firm, the real estate team, and existing/prospective non-institutional investors, ensuring consistent messaging, responsive communication, and high-quality engagement.
Investor Relations & Servicing
- Serve as the primary point of contact for hundreds of existing non-institutional investors, including family offices, RIAs, and high-net-worth individuals.
- Deliver exceptional, proactive investor servicing , ensuring timely responses to inquiries, document requests, and reporting questions.
- Oversee quarterly investor communications in partnership with asset management and finance teams—including statements, letters, fund updates, webinars, and performance reports—with a focus on accuracy, transparency, and clarity.
- Partner closely with Operations, Finance, and Legal to ensure smooth onboarding, capital call coordination, and compliance with subscription and KYC/AML processes.
- Coordinate with COO and Investor Operations to maintain and improve the investor portal, CRM systems, and workflow automation to support scale and service quality
Investor Engagement & Relationship Building
- Support and expand family office and RIA channel relationships , driving retention and cross-fund participation.
- Coordinate investor events, webinars, and in-person meetings to provide portfolio updates and deepen relationships.
- Assist senior leadership in capital raising campaigns and roadshows by providing materials, data, and client background summaries.
- Gather and synthesize investor feedback and market sentiment to inform fund positioning and new product development.
Communication & Reporting
- Partner with investment team to create, review and refine investor-facing materials such as fact sheets, quarterly reports, offering memoranda, and presentations.
- Partner with Head of Capital markets on the end-to-end communication cycle for new funds, from offering launch through close and ongoing updates.
- Track and analyze investor engagement metrics (response rates, capital commitments, reinvestments, etc.) to improve servicing efficiency.
- Partner with Head of Capital Markets and external marketing agency to ensure consistency of messaging across digital platforms, investor portals, and communications.
Professional Qualifications
- 4–6 years professional experience in investor relations, client service, or capital raising roles within private funds, real estate, or alternative investments.
- Direct experience servicing non-institutional investors (i.e. family offices, RIAs, private wealth networks, accredited investors).
- Demonstrated success managing a large, diverse investor base and maintaining consistent communication standards.
- Strong financial literacy and comfort discussing fund structures, returns, and portfolio performance with investors.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with CRM and investor reporting platforms; data-driven mindset with attention to detail.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Business, or related.
