Job Overview The Senior Programmatic Campaign Manager is a highly skilled and influential individual contributor responsible for executing, optimizing, and contributing to Citi's programmatic media investments within an in-house programmatic media team. This pivotal role requires demonstrating expert-level, hands‑on proficiency in leading media activation platforms, coupled with strong analytical skills to drive optimization methodologies and rigorous analysis of performance and quality metrics. The incumbent will work hands‑on-keyboard, safeguarding Citi's brand while driving significant business outcomes, supporting the Group Manager, Lead Programmatic Media Strategist, and contributing to robust governance and operational excellence. This role is essential in executing against Citi's internal approach and contributing to the broader industry ecosystem through best‑in‑class strategic technology partnerships, positioning Citi at the forefront of a privacy‑first, opt‑in advertising experience.

Key Responsibilities

Programmatic Strategy & Execution : Execute, optimize, and contribute to Citi's programmatic media activation strategies. Maintain expert‑level, hands‑on proficiency in leading programmatic buying platforms, including non‑negotiable expertise in DV360, to develop and implement advanced campaign architecture, intricate bid strategies, and complex optimization techniques. Contribute to the identification and evaluation of best‑in‑class media solutions. Experience with Amazon and Yahoo DSPs is a plus.

Analytical & Optimization Expertise : Lead the analysis of deep programmatic metrics, including supply path optimization, attention data, sustainability metrics, and comprehensive media quality indicators. Translate analytical insights into actionable strategies to drive significant performance improvements. Develop and present comprehensive performance reports and recommendations to stakeholders.

Vendor Collaboration & Support : Support the Group Manager in cultivating strategic relationships with core programmatic vendors and technology partners. Participate in the evaluation of new vendor capabilities and contribute to driving joint business plans and fostering innovation to align with Citi's long‑term vision and media strategy.

Agency & Partner Collaboration : Collaborate closely with agency partners, providing expert guidance and ensuring the alignment of programmatic strategies and operations with Citi's objectives and best practices.

Operational Excellence & Governance : Adhere to and implement comprehensive governance frameworks for all programmatic media activities. Contribute to risk and control processes, ensure meticulous documentation of strategies and execution, perform quality assurance (QA) protocols, and assist with billing forecasting and reconciliations for programmatic media spend.

AdTech Support & Advocacy : Support the AdTech contracting process, working closely with Citi legal and compliance teams on approvals for new and emerging technology utilization. Act as a subject matter expert, sharing knowledge of complex programmatic technology and advocating for AdTech initiatives within various internal groups. Mentor and support junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and high performance.

Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications

6-10 years of progressive and proven experience within programmatic media, encompassing significant hands‑on execution and strategic contribution, whether client‑side, publisher‑side, or agency‑side.

Expert‑level proficiency and extensive hands‑on experience running campaigns in DV360.

Demonstrated expert‑level proficiency and extensive hands‑on experience with leading programmatic activation platforms (DSPs), with a proven track record of driving significant performance improvements through advanced optimization techniques.

Experience with Amazon and Yahoo DSPs is a plus.

Proven success in mentoring junior programmatic team members and contributing to team development.

Deep and comprehensive expertise across the AdTech and MarTech ecosystems (audience management tools, DSP / SSP, bid management, ad serving, web analytics, identity solutions), including their strategic application and integration.

Strong strategic thinking, problem‑solving, and decision‑making capabilities.

Superior analytical skillset, with a proven ability to derive and communicate strategic insights from vast and complex programmatic datasets to drive business outcomes.

Proactive understanding of the future of media in a privacy‑first world, with the ability to contribute to anticipating and navigating industry changes.

Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, capable of effectively engaging stakeholders across a matrixed organization.

Experience working closely with legal, compliance, and procurement teams on technology‑related initiatives in a highly regulated environment. Financial services experience is a strong plus.

Highly organized, process‑driven, and capable of managing complex initiatives in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.

Education

Bachelors / University degree or equivalent experience
