Senior Product Designer – San Francisco, CA
As a Senior Product Designer you will own a full product vertical core to our business while guiding the design team's horizontal infrastructure: design systems, mobile strategy, and co‑creation workshops. You will apply a wide range of skills from user research to visual design, and when projects call for it, expand your skill set (e.g., motion design). Your position will involve ideation and roadmap development alongside the PM, with execution on projects such as navigation refactoring and look‑and‑feel updates. The product vertical may cover UI for navigating through 3D space and time, the mobile app for capturing and viewing job sites, managing and viewing 3D models, construction issue resolution, hardware integrations, and dashboards and data visualizations to keep users informed about the status of their job site.
Responsibilities
Lead the end‑to‑end design process for our mobile experience across iOS and Android.
Define and guide the design process, leading others through it.
Ensure consistency across a variety of products and platforms in the end‑to‑end user experience.
Inspire and direct the team toward a meaningful vision efficiently.
Provide leadership and mentorship to more junior designers.
Define the user experience through IA, user flows, and wireframes.
Design pixel‑perfect B2B UI with a B2C mentality.
Work alongside PM to clarify features, product requirements, roadmap, and scope.
Prototype concepts and test with customers.
Execute usability studies, field research, site visits, and customer 1:1s to understand the user and collect feedback. You may visit customers on major construction projects.
Define and evangelize our design language system in Figma.
Produce handoff specs/assets and collaborate directly with engineers for implementation.
Work closely with C‑suite, PMs, engineers, and marketing teams to define, socialize, and execute design work.
Ship real products that people actually use.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience designing successful mobile apps with end‑to‑end ownership.
Track record of designing user‑centric B2C and/or B2B applications.
Advanced proficiency in Figma.
Experience producing detailed mobile design specs and collaborating closely with engineering teams for implementation.
Experience in user research and understanding customers.
Excellent visual and interaction design skills.
Systems‑thinking approach with a broader perspective beyond the screen.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to present rationale for design decisions.
Demonstrated ability to help a team navigate ambiguity, set vision and strategy for global products.
Fluency in best practices for mobile and desktop design, plus knowledge of usability principles and techniques.
Strong time‑management skills and the ability to direct others when needed.
Ability to scope and deliver work on tight schedules, avoiding perfectionism that impedes progress.
Construction industry knowledge or experience is preferred.
Salary Base Salary: $123,000 – $182,000 (U.S. locations). The range reflects anticipated compensation for this role across all U.S. locations including CA, CO, NY, WA, NV, MD, CT, and RI. It is one component of our total rewards strategy, which also includes equity awards, 401(k) match, and region‑specific health and wellness benefits.
