6 Years of Diesel Mechanic Experience & 6 Years of CNG Experience

Waste Industry Experience as a Mechanic

Pay and Benefits

Premium hourly pay

Full‑time & overtime as needed per company

90 % travel within your assigned area

Home location can be any of our shops nearest your home

Hotel accommodations while traveling to other sites in the area

1‑week assignments can be up to 4 weeks at a site

Assignments based on work zones nearest to home site, but could vary

Normal setting for this job is a repair/maintenance shop at any of our Upper Mid‑West locations

Job Responsibilities

Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on a wide range of vehicles and equipment

Estimate time and material costs on vehicle repairs and new parts

Perform work within our Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs)

Respond to service calls for emergency breakdowns

Conduct safety checks on vehicles – the safety of every single employee and the people in our communities is our number one priority

Complete required paperwork, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times

Assist senior mechanics in the completion of project work

Review, complete, or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports

Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate/OSHA standards and perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures

Qualifications

4 years of relevant work experience

A valid driver's license, with a clean driving record

Over 18 years of age

Legally eligible to work in the United States

Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations

Successfully complete and pass a pre‑employment drug screen and physical

Physical Demands and Work Environment Required to exert physical effort that includes frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, and climbing; constant standing, walking, and grasping; occasional sitting and balancing. Must be exposed to occupational risks such as cuts, burns, exposure to toxic chemicals, etc., often. Must be exposed to environmental conditions involving dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements, often. This job operates both inside a garage/shop or gas plant conditions as well as in outdoor conditions that include inclement weather, heat, and humidity.
