General Summary The PTAM is responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with key institutional decision makers and affiliated Health Care Professionals (HCPs). The role reports to a Regional Field Leader and engages 15–20 institutions (hospital and ambulatory surgery centers) and select physicians within those systems.
Key Responsibilities
Establish meaningful, professional relationships across multiple layers of the hospital system: medical and administrative staff, pharmacies, formulary decision makers, and KTLs.
Develop and maintain expertise on the product’s clinical attributes and patient unmet need; educate HCPs on product use in appropriate patients.
Navigate the formulary process and deliver key product value content to ensure timely inclusion on formularies, pathways, and protocols.
Build a deep understanding of institutional customers, account dynamics, stakeholder mapping, decision‑maker relationships, and account department drivers and barriers.
Implement and maintain strategic account plans that identify and harness business opportunities and patient‑focused solutions for significant growth.
Drive sales performance and ensure forecasts and assigned budgets meet or exceed territory expectations.
Collaborate compliantly with other field team members and headquarter colleagues to create aligned business plans and share best practices.
Model ethics and integrity in all interactions, supporting a culture of compliance and earning trust with external stakeholders.
Required Experience and Knowledge/Skills
5–7+ years in biotech sales; hospital/institution product launch experience highly desired.
3+ years of account management experience with strong institutional relationships.
Proven ability to navigate hospital institutions and engage formulary management to gain product access.
Experience implementing inpatient formularies, protocols, pathways, and order sets.
Highly competent with IT capabilities including Veeva CRM.
Experience launching new products preferred.
Other Requirements
Must complete required trainings, background screens, drug testing, and vaccinations.
Must live and work within the territory; may need to reside within a reasonable distance to a major airport.
Valid driver’s license in good standing.
Travel by car or airplane up to 80% of the time; overnight travel up to 30% depending on territory.
Pay Range $133,600 - $200,400, with eligibility for annual bonus and equity awards. Some roles may also qualify for overtime pay per federal and state requirements.
