COORDINATOR II Schedule
Full-time Salary
Minimum: $65,196.00 Median: $79,507.00 Responsibilities
Provide general knowledge and guidance in special education laws, policies and procedures to district personnel. Assist Special Education Region Managers to provide supports to all campuses and vertical teams within assigned region. Serve as a point of contact for Principals, Special Education Campus Leaders, and Evaluation staff. Collaborate with program supervisors and other specialties on the implementation of special education initiatives, such as EasyIEP, and/or program changes and initiatives. Assist Special Education Region Managers in solving logistical and operational issues related to special education service delivery and compliance. Monitor the application of Special Education Federal/State regulations and Local Board Policy and provide training and feedback to Special Education staff, school administrators, and other personnel to ensure compliance with mandates guaranteed to students with disabilities. Conduct regular campus visits to observe, provide feedback, and make recommendations to staff and administrators to improve the implementation of students' Individual Education Plan (IEP) goals and services. Work collaboratively with Special Education Region Specialists to monitor, train, and provide continuous support to teachers and teacher assistants to enhance programs, services, and supports for students by reviewing, analyzing, and providing effective feedback on their work in the learning environment. Recommend, monitor, and support instructional and behavioral strategies in the learning environment. Provide support to teachers and school administrators in the effective implementation and monitoring of high-quality instructional programs. Attend critical ARD committee meetings, as directed, regarding any significant problems with ARD Committee procedures. Assist the Special Education Region Manager and Critical Case Coordinator in activities related to preparing for, or participating in, Texas Education Agency complaint resolutions mandated resolution sessions, formal mediations, and/or due process hearings. Assist Special Education Region Managers in determining appropriate campus-based special education personnel allocations as assigned. Collaborate with the special education manager regarding the appropriate utilization of allocations and adjustments to staffing ratios for campus-based special education personnel. Respond to campus requests for assistance and provide assistance to campuses in resolving special education-related issues and concerns. All federally funded incumbents of this position must comply with time and effort reporting requirements through personnel activity reports or periodic certification, as appropriate. Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned. Qualifications
Required Master’s Degree from an accredited university. Preferred Valid Texas Teacher Certificate with required endorsements for subject and subject level assigned/Special Education. Required 5+ years direct teaching experience in special education or a directly related field. Skilled in working successfully with other professionals and evaluation staff. Ability to work effectively with community organizations, schools, residential facilities, governmental agencies, parents, students, and others in a pluralistic setting. Demonstrated proficient knowledge of computer operations such as Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Google Suite, and Outlook email. Additional Information
