As the Commercial Banking Division Manager, your day will be filled with opportunities to lead a team of Commercial Lenders in the delivery of relationship management and new business development for existing and prospective clients in the metropolitan Louisville area. Responsibilities include identifying, soliciting, servicing, delivering and coordinating the delivery of a broad range of financial products and services. Proactively develop new client relationships and deliver exceptional, high‑level relationship management to clients and prospects. Banking experience in the lending and management capacity is important while Stock Yards Bank will provide a professional environment to continually improve the candidate’s skills and to further his/her career goals for advancement to higher levels within the banking profession.
Responsibilities
Serve as a Manager/Lender, supporting a team of Commercial Lending Relationship Managers in the delivery of a broad range of financial products and services to clients and prospects
Provide a team of Commercial Lenders with direct support and mentoring in all facets of credit underwriting, product delivery and new business development
Lead Commercial Lending Relationship Managers in the execution of proper sales and relationship management techniques, oversee performance, provide appropriate feedback and support their growth
Evaluate loan requests and approve credits within approved authority
Make credit recommendations to Executive Management
Analyze financial condition of clients and prospects to determine capacity for credit obligations
Negotiate credit terms and conditions to properly manage the Bank’s exposure to risk and ensure sufficient return
Serve on internal Bank committees for review of policies and procedures
Support Bank’s commitment to community involvement by serving on external charitable board of directors and by attending functions
Responsible for managing/directing the Commercial Lending Department
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business, accounting, finance, or banking or equivalent education and related training – will consider equivalent, applicable years of experience
10+ years banking experience
5 years in commercial lending capacity
2+ years of leadership experience
Demonstrate a broad, fundamental understanding of financial planning and investment concepts
Sound knowledge of retail bank credit and deposit products
Strong interpersonal, sales and relationship management skills
Strong written, verbal and communication skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office computer applications

Physical Requirements
Ability to work in a professional office environment, including extended periods of sitting at a desk and using a computer.
Ability to converse clearly in person, over the phone, and via electronic communication.
Occasional standing, walking, and reaching as needed to meet with clients or access office materials.
Ability to lift and carry up to 10–20 pounds occasionally (files, laptops, marketing materials).
Ability to travel to client locations, branch offices, and business events; may require driving a personal or company vehicle.
Manual dexterity sufficient for keyboarding, writing, and handling documents.
Visual acuity to review financial documents, screens, contracts, and reports with accuracy.
This position requires sitting the majority of the time with limited walking and standing. Must be able to see, hear, speak, and type. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
