This role is based at our current HQ in Bloomington but will move to Eagan in summer 2025.*** ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES This position reports directly to the VP of Purchasing. The Purchasing Analyst is responsible for supporting our Centralized Purchasing, Operations and IT teams. This role will analyze purchasing data, evaluate suppliers and track material sourcing trends. This role will drive internal awareness through education and internal reporting. This is a newly created role and will expand to support the business needs. Analyze purchasing trends, vendor performance and pricing data to support cost savings and purchasing related initiatives. Partner with IT to develop and implement regular reports and dashboards to provide insights on procurement related key performance indicators (KPI’s). Train and mentor the Centralized Purchasing team on how to utilize the data to make better business decisions that support organizational and Centralized Purchasing initiatives. Work closely with Centralized Purchasing, Project Management and Estimating to forecast material needs and ensure procurement activities align with project schedules. Foster a collaborative, professional and productive work environment. Works with VP of Purchasing and other Purchasing Managers in regard to supplier vetting and relations locally and nationally. Provide regular updates on procurement activities, costs, savings and supplier performance to VP of Purchasing and Purchasing Managers. Assist and collaborate with Accounting, Operations and Centralized Purchasing to resolve discrepancies in invoices, purchase orders or packing slips. Assist in maintaining accurate records in procurement systems, ERP software and BI tools. $75,000-$100,000 + discretionary bonus + employee ownership + benefits Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Data Analytics, Electrical Construction, or a related field. Minimum of 10 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management within the electrical construction industry. Knowledge or coursework in data analytics or business intelligence preferred. Proven track record of successful supplier negotiations and cost management. Strong understanding of procurement processes. Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficient in procurement software, databases and data querying principles, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail and a passion for working with data. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Proactive and results-driven with a strategic mindset. Adaptable and capable of managing multiple priorities. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS This job operates in a professional office environment. This role regularly uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, filing cabinets, photocopiers and fax machines. This position requires the ability to lift files and open file cabinets. Employees are frequently required to sit, stand, and occasionally required to bend, kneel, reach, stoop, or crouch. This position may occasionally lift up to 10 pounds.
