The engineering group at Stantec Plymouth, MN office works on various industrial processes, food and beverage, chemical, agricultural, and other manufacturing projects. From retrofit/upgrade projects to brownfield additions, to complete greenfield facility installations, we partner with clients through all phases of the project lifecycle to deliver high quality designs and outcomes.
Your Opportunity
We are looking for a senior-level Process/Piping Designer. The candidate must be a graduate of an appropriate two-year (minimum) degree program in Mechanical Design, Engineering Technology or Computer-Aided Design/Drafting, and have a minimum of 10 years of directly related work experience. The candidate’s responsibilities will include performing all aspects of computer-aided design assignments using company design standards and the individual’s relevant experience. This position is to be staffed primarily in our Plymouth, MN office. Generate Orthographic drawings from Plant 3D. 3D modeling of equipment and vendor dwg verification. Perform 3D facility design and equipment layouts including generation of sketches and General Arrangement drawings necessary for the installation of processing equipment. Perform piping design including 3D routing of pipes, determination of pipe supports and creation of Isometric drawings necessary for the fabrication and installation of piping systems. Performing fieldwork necessary to gather data, check tie-ins and provide construction support. Assist in preparation of proposals and estimating of new projects. Able to lead small group of designers on a project. Ability to own, manage and lead an area of a project and work with the Project Lead on meeting deliverables. Self-starter with an ability to seek out solutions and identify potential design roadblocks. Work with Project Managers and lead small design projects and/or act as sole designer for the project.
