Base pay range
$8.00/hr - $8.00/hr
Position Summary The Assistant Deli Manager works closely with the Deli Manager to ensure all available product is out for sale, maintained with strict freshness policies, HACCP guidelines, and to develop customer relationships that drive sales goals, minimize losses, and provide mutual benefit.
Essential Functions
Demonstrate teamwork to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant, safe working environment.
Provide friendly and efficient customer service.
Communicate effectively with customers and respond to requests in a timely manner.
Operate equipment (box cutter, knives, scales, compactor, high‑lo, scooters, scissor lifts) per company and OSHA guidelines.
Follow product handling procedures per HACCP policy.
Assist with product presentation, rotation, labeling & replenishment.
Ensure in‑stock position while monitoring inventory through cycle counts.
Maintain working knowledge of all warehouse equipment.
Execute all departmental operating procedures per corporate audit.
Use suggestive selling techniques to increase sales.
Monitor product quality to reduce shrink.
Maintain high cleanliness standards (washing, cleaning, sweeping, mopping).
Assist manager with interviewing, hiring & scheduling.
Adhere to all laws and company food safety guidelines.
Assist general team members as needed and in other warehouse areas.
Experience & Skills Required
Develop, train, and build relationships with team members.
Provide outstanding customer service.
Manage warehouse operations effectively.
Communicate clearly and listen attentively.
Operate all necessary equipment.
Work in a fast‑paced warehouse environment.
Experience in warehouse, retail, or customer service is a plus.
Operate handheld scanner, desktop computer, and calculator.
Physical Demands
Walking/standing on concrete up to 10 hours/day.
Frequent turning, standing, reaching, stooping, and/or bending.
Pushing/pulling objects 500–1,500 lbs.
Lifting/carrying objects >60 lbs.
Work Environment
Frequent exposure to cold/freezing temperatures.
Equipment in motion (forklifts, electric pallet jacks, scooters).
