Child Welfare Specialist IV - Mentor/Trainer - OKDHS ONLY
This position is available only to current OKDHS employees.
This position may be located in Norman, Lawton, or Altus, Oklahoma.
Applicants who possess a Master’s Degree in Social Work will be entitled to a salary incentive of an additional 5%.
On-call positions will receive an additional bonus ranging from $100 to $150 every two weeks, depending on responsibilities.
Travel is EXTENSIVE. Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain required car insurance.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s Degree plus one year of experience in professional social work in child welfare programs.
OR
a Bachelor’s Degree plus two years of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist
OR
Three years of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist.
Job Responsibilities
Serves as a Trainer and Mentor to support and guide new Child Welfare Specialists during their first year of training.
Assists in coaching and mentoring of new staff as well as conducting training for tenured staff. Also provides opportunities for staff to gain foundational learning for all Pre‑CORE and CORE OJT activities throughout their training program.
Collaborates with mentors in the field on the progress and or struggles new workers are having with case load management.
Assists with developing a support plan approved by training supervisors to assist the worker with any struggles they may be experiencing.
This is a position in the Oklahoma Civil Service.
