Job Title: Tax Senior Manager – State & Local Tax (SALT) Practice (San Francisco, CA)

The role: Provide state and local property tax planning, consulting, and compliance services to multiple clients across various industries. Work directly with clients, manage the tax engagement team, and collaborate with firm Leadership.

Responsibilities

Engage in business development activities (prepare proposals, present in webinars, etc.)

Provide guidance to clients on a range of property tax issues

Analyze property tax considerations and/or the potential impacts related to business restructuring or due diligence projects

Perform in-depth reviews of complex property tax returns

Assist with drafting and presenting new proposals to new and existing clients

Supervise, mentor, train, and evaluate Seniors, Associates, and interns

Qualifications

6+ years relevant work experience in an accounting firm, with at least 5 years of property tax and experience with property tax assessors

Bachelor’s and/or advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field (Preferred)

Advanced credential that allows client representation before the Internal Revenue Service required (e.g., CPA or JD); CMI also acceptable

Self-starter with the initiative to seek out opportunities and the ability to work successfully in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment

Proficient use of technology

Compensation and Benefits Competitive base salary and comprehensive benefits package. For individuals hired in San Francisco, the expected salary range for this role is $177,100 to $229,500, based on qualifications, experience, and skill set.

Benefits: medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance coverage; 401(k) plan upon hire; 160 hours of paid time off annually, plus twelve paid holidays each calendar year.
