Responsibilities
Act as interpreter between students, parents, and school staff in English and Spanish.
Provide accurate, non‑additive, non‑omissive interpretations.
Conduct three‑way hotline interpretations between school staff and parents.
Complete daily phone activity logs.
Be available for evening, Saturday, and short‑notice meetings.
Render clear and exact translations of written materials following guidelines.
Pursue continued development of translation and interpretation skills.
Support the district mission as an active team member.
Perform all other assigned tasks.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree preferred; accredited high‑school diploma or equivalent plus 60 college hours acceptable.
At least two years’ experience as a translator/interpreter.
Strong written and oral fluency in Spanish and English; proficiency in proofreading.
Proficient with Google Docs, Microsoft Word, and PDF documents.
Ability to work independently and demonstrate exemplary attendance.
Excellent interpersonal and customer‑service skills.
Strong organizational, time‑management, prioritization, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
Reliable transportation.
Capacity to learn use of FM transmitters/receivers (interpretation equipment).
If working remotely, maintain an adequate work environment for calls.
