ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage and coordinate activities involving sales of events for Horseshoe Indianapolis Racing & Casino

Control all room blocks and maximize space for profitability

Consult with department heads to plan for events

Establish and maintain interpersonal relationships

Resolve customer complaints regarding sales and service

Coordinate with the Banquet Supervisor to coordinate and review events

Display, Coach and Maintain standards of sanitation, kitchen and personal hygiene and cleanliness, as well as food service techniques and safety all with regard to the safe handling of food products for guest’s consumption.

Communicate on a consistent basis with upper management keeping them aware of all department activities.

Responsible for attaining budgeted catering revenues, maximizing room rental income, attaining full menu pricing and upsell of Food and Beverage.

Develop outside vendors, as preferred vendors, with partnership revenues

Develop all BEO’s, change sheets, 14‑day forecasts and guarantee sheets

Possess the ability to work with co‑workers in any kitchen environment and display, coach, mentor others to like behavior ensuring guests receive highest quality products and service at Horseshoe Indianapolis Racing & Casino.

All other duties assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma (GED) required; College Degree preferred.

1 (one) year experience in the Food Service or Hospitality Industry in Group Sales or a similar position.

Ability to successfully set up and run events with basic knowledge of catering procedures, wine, spirit and food pairing.

Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking and understanding English and mathematics.

Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office.

Strong time‑management and organizational skills.

Understanding of Profit & Loss Statements.

Detail oriented and capable of multitasking.

Excellent customer‑service skills.

Must be at least 21 years of age; certified in Serve Safe Food Sanitation, Serve Safe Alcohol Awareness, and Indiana State approved Alcohol Training.

Hold an Indiana ATC (Alcohol & Tobacco Commission) License and be able to obtain an IGC (Indiana Gaming Commission) Occupational License.

Requires scheduling flexibility; may need to work weekends, holidays, overnight or overtime as business needs dictate.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS Must be able to lift 30 pounds. Frequent standing, walking, stooping, bending, reaching, climbing steps and sitting. Requires manual dexterity for cutting, slicing, whisking, grabbing, gripping, typing, pulling, holding, tearing, sorting, and reaching.

WORK ENVIRONMENT Horseshoe Indianapolis Racing & Casino is a smoking establishment; must be able to work in a smoking environment. Must be able to work in a highly populated, fast‑paced and noisy environment.

FOOD SAFETY / SANITATION / HACCP / OSHA GUIDELINES

Demonstrate and ensure that daily work performed is conducted within HACCP guidelines.

Comply with safe and hazard‑free work‑environment practices stipulated in the relevant policies, procedures and regulations.
