About this Role As an Emerging Markets Sovereign Debt Analyst at MEAG in New York, you will be an integral part of the Global Credit Research team. This dynamic role supports our investment team in pinpointing and evaluating opportunities within global fixed income markets. In particular, your work will revolve around assessing credit risk for Emerging Markets sovereign issuers, employing a robust analysis of macroeconomic fundamentals, fiscal and monetary policies, political stability, and ESG considerations. The position involves translating complex data into actionable investment advice not only for the Emerging Markets team but also for Portfolio Management teams global‑wide. Your contributions will support internal credit ratings, investment recommendations, and drafting of investment memos. The role demands a collaborative spirit, building and maintaining relationships with sovereign issuers, investment banks, and rating agencies.

Responsibilities

Evaluate credit risk of Emerging Markets sovereign issuers through comprehensive analysis.

Translate complex country‑specific data into actionable investment recommendations.

Assign internal credit ratings and draft investment memos.

Collaborate and share knowledge with the Emerging Markets and Global Credit Research teams.

Establish and maintain relationships with sovereign issuers, investment banks, and rating agencies.

Requirements

Several years of professional experience within Emerging Markets.

Familiarity with IMF and World Bank data, Haver or LSEG analytics, and rating agency methodologies.

Degree in Economics preferred.

Proficiency in Bloomberg, Excel, Power BI, VBA, Co‑Pilot, and/or ChatGPT.

Strong verbal and written presentation skills.
