Diesel Mechanic – Night Shift, 9pm–5:30am
WM invites applications for a Diesel Mechanic position that offers a safe work environment, full‑time stable hours, and a focus on employee well‑being. Pay & Benefits
Starting salary of $25.00–$30.00 per hour, depending on experience
Boot allowance of $200 per year

Schedule & Location
Monday – Friday, every week
Shift: 9:00 pm to 5:30 am
No weekend work
Work site: WM’s repair/maintenance shop in West Babylon, NY hauling location
Responsibilities
Inspect, diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on a wide range of vehicles and equipment.
Estimate time and material costs for vehicle repairs and new parts.
Perform work within our Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs).
Respond to service calls for emergency breakdowns.
Conduct safety checks on vehicles, ensuring compliance with Corporate/OSHA Standards.
Complete required paperwork, documenting parts usage and accounting for repair times.
Assist senior mechanics with project work and review Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
Maintain a clean, safe work area.
Qualifications
At least 2 years of relevant work experience.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Over 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in the United States.
Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
Successful completion of pre‑employment drug screen and physical exam.

Physical Demands & Work Environment
Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, and climbing.
