Compensation and Bonuses
Hourly pay: $33.50 per hour
Sign‑on bonus: $2,000 at 30 days and $2,000 at 90 days
Certification bonus: $100 for each new ASE certification up to $700
Quarterly bonus: up to $500 every quarter (four times per year)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, weekends off
Hours: Second shift 9:30 am – 6:00 pm

Responsibilities
Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including standard and preventive maintenance, diagnosing complex mechanical and electronic problems utilizing diagnostic computer when applicable, completing complex inspections and repairs with minimal supervision, replacing defective components, and working unsupervised on most tasks.
Perform facility maintenance duties.
Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaint once assigned a task.
Utilize key functions of shop management system and electronic documentation.
Work in accordance with all federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines.
Act as mentor for Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels.
Access and use internal and external maintenance documents.
Other support duties (e.g., Service Island support) as required.
Complete SBTIII training within 180 days (SBT220).
Complete two OEM online diagnostic scan tool software courses as required (within 365 days).
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Vocational or technical certification, postsecondary degree, or technical certifications preferred.
Basic tools required.
Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brakes, tires), basic diagnostics, and repairs (AC and electrical systems) required.
Three (3) years or more relevant work experience preferred.
Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A preferred.
All other certifications required by location required.
Must have at least 2 years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy‑duty and medium‑duty equipment.
Knowledge of and ability to apply computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse, etc.
Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire.
Pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, road test, and background check.
Some positions require additional screening, including employment and education verification, motor vehicle records check, road test, and/or customer background requirements.
