Personal Financial Counselor – Assignment Ready Counselor (PFC), Oklahoma
Position is available for short‑term, surge, and on‑demand coverage of personal financial counseling services to military service members and their families at military installations.
Responsibilities
Provide personal financial counseling and management services directly to service members and families.
Assist service members in establishing a spending plan for extended absences.
Develop and distribute informational financial materials.
Coordinate, publicize, and deliver a wide variety of Personal Financial Management classes/workshops covering various life stages and assignments.
Respond to requests for age‑appropriate classes or seminars.
Utilize virtual counseling or other electronic communication modes such as web‑based, secure online chat, or video‑based communications.
Manage duty‑to‑warn situations per DoD protocol.
Communicate with leadership and participate in regular individual and group supervision.
Participate in regular in‑services/training, quality‑improvement committees or other contract activities as assigned/appropriate.
Perform any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required (associate degree + 4 years’ experience or high school diploma + 6 years’ experience considered).
3+ years of financial counseling experience.
U.S. citizen and fluent English speaker; bilingual English/Spanish may be required.
Ability to obtain favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation.
Must pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process.
Must hold one of the following certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
Compensation and Benefits Salary Range:
$53,125–$84,995, based on experience, education, location, and other factors.
Eligible for short‑term incentives and a comprehensive benefits package including health, life, voluntary, and other perks.
