Position Overview The Digital Manufacturing Portfolio Development Executive (PFD) will be responsible for developing and implementing the Americas go‑to‑market strategy for solution areas in the Digital Manufacturing portfolio within the Automotive and Heavy Equipment (HEAT) industry. This Portfolio Development Executive will drive Siemens’ Digital Manufacturing Story across the two major industries within the manufacturing domain.

MOM - MES, Production Scheduling and Quality Management and Manufacturing Intelligence

Manufacturing Engineering – Line Planning, Virtual Commissioning and Robotics

IIoT – Smart Manufacturing; Connection to Automation; SAAS and Cloud technologies

As part of the HEAT portfolio development organization, the individual will drive pipeline creation and sales of assigned product domains by targeting accounts where the products have a fit. To achieve success, the Portfolio Development Executive will be responsible for and take on ownership of assigned MOM and Manufacturing Engineering campaigns, leveraging and collaborating with multi‑functional teams to improve software opportunities. As a trusted partner with direct and indirect sales teams, this role will be 50% customer facing.

Responsibilities

Define business needs and develop value propositions; contribute to the generation of compelling proposals

Own the research to support initiative business plan

Develop and articulate Trends‑Implications‑Possibilities‑Solutions, create presentations, and deliver a demo through AVI

Document experience of owning and managing the discovery phase with clients

Ask challenging questions to understand/identify problem areas

Clearly articulate “why Siemens?” in non‑technical terms (then if required, at a more technical level)

Manage multiple campaigns/initiatives per year

Define campaign/initiative success with each Country Manager/Sales Leader

Develop business justification, sales execution plan and revenue goals

Complete understanding of campaign/initiative value proposition and presentation materials

Present plan to Sales leadership

Drive campaign execution with Industry, Marketing and Sales

Deliver sales enablement training of collateral as required

Deliver campaign and initiative materials to prospects and customers as required

Manage execution plan and report weekly progress

Support closing process if required

Qualifications

Ability to build strategy and roadmap interacting with Senior Manufacturing Executives including C‑Suite; executed selling experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Operations and IIoT areas

Proven sales experience at Siemens or a competitor

Proven strategy development at an account and industry level

Proven experience partnering with development team on market/industry requirements gathering to drive software enhancements

5‑10 years of sales, business development or pre‑sales experience and strong grasp of technology solutions

Ability to articulate end‑to‑end Digitalization messages to the customer and map Siemens technology to customer requirements and vision

Demonstrated capability to be the trusted advisor for the client within new or existing customers at various organizational levels

Practical experience with MOM/MES solutions and additionally Manufacturing Planning, Quality, Scheduling, Plant and Process Simulation and Manufacturing Intelligence software, preferably in Automotive or Heavy Equipment environments

Understanding the connection/integration to Design, PLM, ERP and Shop floor technologies

Experience working with clients in IoT/IIoT and Industry 4.0 based solutions

Experience with cloud‑based technologies and deployment on‑premises and in the cloud

Proven written and presentation development skills; strong skills in MS Excel, PowerPoint and Tableau

Understanding of organizational management is critical

Ability to multi‑task

Experience aligning with mid/upper‑level management and technical users

Collaborate and drive results with diverse teams across multiple internal and external organizations

Formal and informal networking across company

Approximately 50% travel

BA/BS degree required, or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications

6 Sigma Black Belt and LEAN manufacturing expertise

Good understanding of how AI is incorporated into our products and how it can provide value for our customers

Ability to use AI to create new opportunities, leveraging it for research and messaging
