Job Summary:
Emigrant Bank Fine Art Finance seeks an entrepreneurial Private Banker with ten years of experience working with high net worth (HNW) and ultra-high net worth (UHNW) clients, delivering bespoke banking and credit solutions. This role combines business development, credit underwriting/structuring, portfolio management and cross-functional collaboration.
Emigrant Bank Fine Art Finance is a boutique firm that finances fine art, collectibles, wine, classic cars, rare stringed instruments, and a broad range of valuable specialty assets. Compensation and benefits commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities include:
Serve as a key member of the deal team in the underwriting and loan approval process.
Screen inquiries, extensive due diligence and underwriting.
Structure, underwrite and manage sophisticated credit facilities (e.g., secured lending, bespoke credit, asset backed lending and upcoming new products.
Draft and negotiate term sheets, pricing, conditions, collateral, documentation.
Perform financial statement and cash-flow analysis, credit risk assessment, covenant monitoring.
Prepare credit documentation for facilities, liaising with legal counsel
Monitor credit portfolio, ensure asset quality, early identification of risk-issues, mitigation strategies.
Support management of pipeline and business development: maintain prospect lists, referral networks (COIs -attorneys, accountants, financial services firms), external partnerships.
Operational & risk-management responsibilities: ensure credit approvals and documentation comply with internal policy/regulation (AML/KYC/whatever applies), maintain controls and oversight.
Manage loan approval process and all necessary work to document and close the transaction.
Manage portfolio and loan servicing.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business or related field (MBA preferred).
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in private banking/wealth management with credit underwriting/structuring experience.
Strong technical credit skills: ability to analyze financial statements, perform cash-flow modelling, evaluate collateral, structure credit deals.
Demonstrated success in relationship management with HNW & UHNW clients and business development skills.
Excellent analytical, writing, communication and presentation skills
Strategic mindset, ability to work collaboratively.
Strong business ethics, high standards of client service, and knowledge of banking regulation/compliance.
Formal private bank credit training program is a plus
Understanding of regulatory requirements and risk
Self-motivated individual capable of working on multiple deals
Proficient personal computer skills including Outlook, Excel, Word, Adobe, strong record keeping, routine database activity
New York pay range
$400,000-$500,000 USD
