Opportunity We are part of EY Private Tax, a growing practice focused on serving privately held companies ranging from family businesses to private equity‑owned entities. With a diverse portfolio of challenging work, you’ll impact technically demanding tax planning and compliance projects, supported by knowledgeable colleagues and training opportunities that may lead to senior manager roles.
Key Responsibilities
Preparing or reviewing federal and state tax returns for U.S. corporations and some partnerships, including foreign reporting requirements for cross‑border entities.
Providing tax research, drafting memoranda, and assisting in quantitative modelling for private client tax advisory services.
Identifying and communicating significant tax matters to Senior Managers, Managing Directors and Partners.
Liaising with other service lines and subject‑matter professionals.
Building long‑term client relationships to deliver tailored service.
Communicating complex tax issues to non‑tax professionals and clients.
Continuously updating and sharing technical knowledge to maintain field reputation.
Managing, coaching, and developing a team of tax professionals, reviewing work and ensuring they have the tools and opportunities to excel.
Identifying and reacting to risks and opportunities to improve services and processes.
Skills and Attributes for Success
Bachelor’s degree in a related field with tax, business or financial planning experience.
CPA certification or membership in the Bar.
Prior experience with ASC 740 tax provisions.
Excellent collaboration and negotiation skills, confident in challenging stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in professional services or a professional tax organization.
Commitment to continuous learning.
Proficiency with tax software such as RIA, CCH IntelliConnect, OneSource, BNA or Lexis Nexis.
Experience managing, coaching, and mentoring junior colleagues.
Willingness to travel as needed and ability to work in a balanced hybrid environment.

We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package. The base salary range for U.S. locations is $106,500 to $195,100, with higher ranges for New York, Washington, and California (excluding Sacramento). Total Rewards include medical, dental, pension, 401(k), and paid time off.
Hybrid model: we expect most client‑serving roles to work together in person 40–60% of the time throughout engagements.
Flexible vacation policy: you decide how much vacation you need, plus designated EY paid holidays, winter/summer breaks, personal/family care, and other leaves.
