Personal Financial Counselor, PFC- Austin, TX
Provide personal financial services at assigned military installations. Primary responsibilities include full breadth of personal financial counseling services to military service members and families.
Responsibilities
Provide personal financial counseling and management services directly to service members and families.
Assist service members in establishing a spending plan for extended absences.
Develop and make available informational financial materials to service members and families.
Coordinate, publicize and provide a wide variety of Personal Financial Management classes/workshops covering the military lifecycle.
Respond to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars.
Utilize virtual counseling or other electronic modes of communication (web-based, secure online chat, video-based communications), subject to authorization.
Manage duty to warn situations according to DoD protocol.
Communicate with leadership and participate in regular individual and group supervision.
Participate in regular in-services, training, quality improvement committees or other contract activities as assigned.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required; associate degree plus 4 years experience, or high school diploma plus 6 years experience may be considered.
3+ years of financial counseling experience.
U.S. citizen and fluent in English; bilingual in English and Spanish may be required.
Adjudicated Tier 2 investigation required.
Pass Congressionally mandated disclosures for organizational conflicts of interest (OCI) process.
Must hold one of the following certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
