Construction Manager
for its Water/Wastewater division in Oklahoma City, OK. This role supports current staff while expanding the firm's inspection practice statewide. Candidates will maintain client relationships, mentor junior staff, and promote a healthy work‑life balance.
Job Responsibilities
Under supervision, coordinate and perform observations of public works, utilities, streets, highways, bridges, building components, infrastructure, and tract right‑of‑way across construction projects.
Conduct on‑site observations of construction installations—including materials, grade elevations, underground facilities, safety precautions, concrete structures, street light and traffic signal installations, and erosion control—to ensure compliance with contract plans, specifications, and government regulations.
Review construction plans, specifications, encroachment permits, and other related documents affecting assigned projects.
Participate in meetings to discuss construction details and resolve issues with contractors and stakeholders.
Make field measurements and ensure conformance with applicable safety standards and regulations.
Assist in coordinating material testing and identify on‑site project problems.
Observe reports, alert project team on non‑conformance issues, and monitor correction of deficiencies.
Recommend necessary contract or plan adjustments for field conditions.
Maintain daily diaries and field records of materials and quantities used.
Calculate and recommend formal approval of progress payments to contractors for completed work.
Investigate citizen complaints regarding encroachment and or grading violations.
Specific Requirements
Minimum 10 years of experience in utility construction or construction inspection.
Broad expertise with construction concepts and skills.
Ability to handle significant, unique issues requiring evaluation of intangibles.
Employs independent judgment in methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria.
Provides consultation and advice to management on matters of importance.
Determines methods and procedures for new or special assignments independently.
Adapts to sudden changes in schedule or task.
Analyzes schedule and prioritizes tasks to ensure critical work is observed and documented.
May provide direct or indirect supervision to other personnel.
Compensation Range $107,763.51 – $143,684.68
