DLO Night Shift Microbiology Specimen Prep Tech I

Location: Diagnostic Laboratory of Oklahoma, Oklahoma City, OK
Shift: 9:30 pm – 8:00 am, variable hours with rotating holidays and weekends.
Responsibilities:
Show up on time and prepared each scheduled work day.
Perform all assigned tasks and processes, including those you are fully qualified for and any over‑qualified tasks.
Maintain a positive and supportive attitude, collaborating with teammates daily.
Data entry and phone answering.
Process specimens for laboratory analysis; plate specimens for microbiology testing.
Perform initial phases of testing and assist technologists to produce patient results.
Sort incoming specimens, prioritize and immediately process STAT and other critical tests.
Proficiently use two computer systems.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or higher.
Laboratory experience desired.
Good computer skills.
Manual dexterity and attention to detail.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
Data entry background with ability to enter 6,000 alphanumeric keystrokes per hour.
Work in a biohazard environment and practice good safety habits.
Able to sit or stand for long periods.
Handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a production environment.
Must maintain a professional attitude and be available for scheduled vacation, emergency coverage, and weekend shift rotation.
