Vista Springs Timber Ridge Village is looking for a seasoned Licensed Practical Nurse with a Social Work background and experience working with families and seniors with dementia.

Summary Plans, coordinates, and provides total nursing care for Community Members and provides supervision and guidance to clinical staff members. Scope of work may be modified by state specific rules under the Nurse Practice Act.

Qualifications

Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two‑year college or technical school, or five years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and training.

Valid CPR certification.

LPN license.

One year of nursing experience preferred.

Essential Functions

Supports the philosophy, mission, commitment, vision, and values of Vista Springs.

Initiates and leads team conferences in development of individualized nursing care plans.

Assesses and documents the Community Member’s condition and nursing needs.

Accurately and promptly implements physicians’ orders.

Assigns nursing care to team members in accordance with the Community Member’s needs and the staff’s capabilities and qualifications.

Supervises, directs, and evaluates LVNs and CNAs.

Administers medications, performs treatments for assigned Community Members, and documents that treatment as required by Vista Springs and local, state and federal rules and regulations.

Participates in orientation and in‑service training for personnel.

Assists physicians with special tests and procedures within the scope of state specified Nursing Practice Act.

Ensures supplies are utilized economically and equipment is clean and maintained safely.

Reports and records pertinent observations and reactions regarding Community Members.

Coordinates nursing care of Community Members when scheduled for therapy or procedures by other departments.

Supervises nursing unit, overseeing scheduling and directing the nursing staff.

Ensures inventory and supplies are maintained on the unit and communicates need for housekeeping, maintenance or dietary assistance.

Promotes interpersonal relationships and develops staff morale.

Assists with or institutes emergency measures for sudden adverse developments in Community Members.

Performs other tasks as assigned.

Conducts responsibilities in accordance with the standards of Vista Springs, policies and procedures, applicable federal and state laws and professional standards.

Skilled in directing and motivating the workforce.

Works cooperatively as a member of a team.

Communicates effectively with Community Members, their family members, and at all levels of the organization.

Reacts decisively and quickly in emergency situations.

Knowledge of training techniques for clinical staff.

Maintains confidentiality.
