Position Summary As Product Owner for AdmissionCare, you will drive the strategic direction and tactical execution of our flagship product that helps clinicians determine and document appropriate bed status at admission. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, technical acumen, and customer empathy to deliver solutions that improve clinical workflows and patient outcomes.
You will work cross-functionally with sales, implementation, customer success, engineering, and executive leadership to prioritize features, build business cases, and deliver high-impact product enhancements. This is a hands-on role that combines product strategy with direct customer engagement and technical problem-solving.
Roles and Responsibilities Strategic Product Leadership
Define and communicate the product vision and roadmap for AdmissionCare in alignment with platform strategy
Collaborate with sales, customer success, and executive leadership to identify market opportunities and set product priorities
Develop comprehensive business cases for major product initiatives, including success metrics, ROI projections, and resource requirements
Conduct competitive analysis and market research to inform strategic product decisions
Serve as the voice of the customer, translating clinical needs into actionable product strategy
Product Development & Delivery
Write detailed user stories with clear acceptance criteria, technical requirements, and design specifications
Create wireframes, design mocks, and prototypes to communicate feature requirements to stakeholders
Partner with technical leads and engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle
Facilitate sprint planning, backlog grooming, and prioritization sessions
Participate in quality assurance testing aligned with sprint and deployment cycles
Ensure all stakeholders have clear understanding of requirements and expected outcomes
Customer Support & Success
Support new customer implementations and guide onboarding processes
Provide technical support and troubleshoot production issues for existing customers
Conduct customer interviews and gather feedback to inform product roadmap
Analyze customer usage patterns and identify opportunities for product improvements
Build strong relationships with key clinical users and stakeholders
Education
Bachelor's degree required
Preferred: Degree in healthcare sciences, software engineering, information systems, computer science, design, or related field
Experience
3-5 years of product management or product ownership experience in healthcare software
Demonstrated track record designing and building clinical software applicationsExperience translating clinical user needs into technical product requirements
Proven ability to manage product roadmaps and prioritize features based on business value
Core Competencies
Strong understanding of clinical workflows and healthcare delivery systems
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to engage both technical and clinical audiences
Ability to write clear, detailed user stories and acceptance criteria
Experience collaborating with engineering teams in agile development environments
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Self-motivated with ability to take ownership while working collaboratively
Preferred Qualifications
Direct clinical experience or healthcare domain expertise
Experience working with EHR/EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, etc.) and clinical workflow
Proficiency writing SQL queries for data analysis and quality review
Working knowledge of healthcare data standards (HL7/FHIR) and code sets (LOINC, SNOMED, CPT, ICD-10)
Experience with admission/utilization management workflows
Background in business case development and financial analysis
Familiarity with regulatory requirements (CMS, Joint Commission, etc.)
Previous experience in a startup or high-growth technology environment
