Seeking an experienced Structures Mechanic to assemble and inspect 737 fuselage structures, applying strong aerospace sheet metal skills.
Position:
Structures Mechanic Pay:
$47/hr + per diem for those who apply (for non-local candidates residing over 100 miles away) Training Location:
Wichita, KS (flights and hotel reimbursement provided during training) Shifts:
Must be able to work either shift Eligibility:
Must be eligible for rehire at Boeing (verify at 866-473-2016)
About the Role Join our team assembling and inspecting 737 fuselage structures. You will work from drawings, process specifications, and quality standards to assemble, install, seal, rig, inspect, and complete structural and system components. Perform functional testing and ensure proper form, fit, and function of assemblies.
Key Responsibilities
Interpret and use prints, charts, sketches, and work instructions
Use shop mathematics and precision measuring/test instruments to complete assignments
Assemble components using proper tooling
Verify work meets specifications; identify and report discrepancies
Maintain equipment and tool certification
Perform routine minor machine maintenance (filters, lubrication, light bulbs, etc.)
Move products within the work area and complete transactions for the next operation
Meet production schedules and support continuous flow of product
Assist and train team members at all classification levels
Train other assembly personnel in assembly, installation, and inspection techniques
Cross-train in inspection and become SIA qualified
Qualifications & Skills
Minimum 5+ years of sheet metal experience in the aerospace industry
737 rework or structures background preferred
Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and aircraft structures
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and process specifications
Familiarity with assembly/installation, sub-assembly, and sealing processes
Skilled in performing inspections and quality verifications
