Job Summary The Retail Manager oversees the daily operations of the café, supervising staff, managing finances, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, and promoting a positive guest experience. The role includes budgeting, inventory control, menu development, and liaison with clients.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily administrative and operational tasks.
Handle all aspects of staff management, including hiring, training, and performance management.
Manage financials: budget development, forecasting, and reporting.
Maintain knowledge of market trends.
Control costs and monitor expenditures.
Ensure sanitation and safety of the assigned unit(s).
Purchase and manage inventory.
Implement new culinary programs in collaboration with marketing and culinary teams.
Act as the direct liaison with the client.
Preferred Qualifications
Culinary degree preferred, or A.A. Degree plus related experience.
Three or more years of supervisory experience in food service operations.
Experience in a healthcare, senior living, or retirement environment desirable.
Knowledge of retail, food, and catering trends focusing on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.
Leadership, management, and coaching skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Financial, budgetary, accounting, and computational skills.
Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office, e‑mail and the Internet.
ServSafe® Certified.
