Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a dedicated Insurance Underwriter with experience in commercial lines. The ideal candidate will have relevant experience, including expertise in writing both non-admitted and admitted risks. Also have effective communication skills and a passion for building long-term relationships with brokers and clients. Responsibilities:
Market and negotiate with brokers and carriers. Assist brokers in writing new business for their clients. Examine and evaluate documents, applications, reports, etc. Solve problems, resolve conflicts, and collaborate effectively with teams. Obtain quotes/rates and explain company underwriting policies and offers. Service existing accounts and present proposals. Determine risk and market selection for renewals as well as new business. Bind risks within authority and broker risks beyond authority. Prepare submissions for rating and handling by the support staff. Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in insurance underwriting. Minimum of 2 years of experience in the insurance industry. Ideal candidate should have a minimum of one year's experience for Assistant Underwriter positions and three years for Underwriter positions. Experience in writing both non-admitted and admitted risks. Comfortable speaking with brokers and building lasting relationships with independent insurance agencies. Effective communication skills, both oral and written. Market knowledge and interest in networking. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. Minimum High School Diploma or Equivalent
