Job Description Summary Multifamily Property Managers are responsible for maintaining our communities to a market-ready standard, always ensuring high-level of service. They also motivate high-performing teams to maximize the performance of the property.

Salary and Benefits $72,250.00 - $85,000.00, eligible for benefits and additional earnings.

Employment Type Full‑time position, on‑site schedule Monday‑Friday plus on‑call for emergencies.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

Ensure the smooth running of our community in a fast‑paced environment. Oversee all operations including maintenance, capital improvements, lease administration, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, collections, evictions, vacancy anticipation, marketing, lease renewals, service contracts, expense control, audits, etc.

Provide superior customer service and communication to residents and prospects to enhance customer satisfaction and increase renewals, revenue, reputation, and profitability. Complete lease/renewal paperwork to company standards.

Track and evaluate advertising and all client traffic.

Develop, mentor, lead, and manage a high‑performing, cohesive team across leasing, customer service, maintenance, and management to maximize engagement and minimize turnover.

Drive revenues through thorough understanding of competition and development of creative marketing programs.

Lead by example, instilling Cushman & Wakefield’s mission to be the best national management company.

Supervise day‑to‑day operations of the entire on‑site team, ensuring policies and procedures are followed.

Maintain effective on‑site staff through interviewing, hiring, and coaching as necessary.

Maintain residents’ files in accordance with company standards.

Maintain a positive living environment for residents through prompt conflict resolution and consistent follow‑up.

Manage and maintain all aspects of overall community budget and finances.

Work with leasing staff to ensure leasing/marketing goals are met.

Competencies

Effective communication and customer service skills.

Computer literate, including Microsoft Office Suite and internet navigation skills.

General office, bookkeeping and sales skills and excellent oral and written communication skills.

Determine leasing opportunities for staff and work on goal setting to improve performance of each staff member.

Supervise day‑to‑day operations of team, ensuring all C&W policies and procedures are followed.

Work with leasing staff to ensure leasing/marketing goals are met.

Be able to manage a team.

Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

Important Education

Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

NY Real Estate License preferred.

Important Experience

3+ years NYC multifamily property management experience required.

2+ years experience as an on‑site Property Manager required.

Strong preference for Yardi systems experience.

Strong financial acumen required for multifamily property management including participation in creation of property budget, consistent budget management, variance notes, invoicing, reclasses/accruals, delinquency/occupancy and other month‑end close tasks, and regular reporting/managing property finances.

Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Regular travel required.

Physical Demands The physical demands of this role include standing and walking for extended periods, ascending and descending staircases, ladders, and step stools, traveling outside between buildings in varying weather, remaining stationary (sit/stand) 85% of the time, operating office machinery, traveling up to 15% of the time, and lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling or moving objects up to 25 pounds occasionally, frequently or constantly.

Compensation Details The compensation offered will depend on factors such as union coverage, geographic area, market rates, and the candidate’s experience and qualifications. The company will not pay less than minimum wage. Compensation for the position is: $72,250.00 - $85,000.00.
