Job Summary
Plans, directs, and supervises all administrative functions of the Laboratory in regard to services, programs, and evaluation of such programs. Confers with Administration, Medical Director, and Medical Staff to ascertain Harris Health System needs related to Laboratory Services while ensuring activities are in accordance with CAP and JCAHO standards and Harris Health System administrative policies.
Minimum Qualifications
Education/Specialized Training/Licensure:
Graduate from an accredited college or university with a degree in Medical Technology, Biology, or Chemistry; Certified Medical Technologist (American Society of Clinical Pathologists, NCA, AMT, or AAB); Master’s degree in Management, Business, or Healthcare Administration preferred.
Work Experience:
Minimum of seven (7) years in Core Laboratory.
Management Experience:
Minimum of five (5) years of recent laboratory management experience.
Equipment Operated:
PC equipment, printer, terminals, analyzers.
Communication Skills:
Above average verbal skills (heavy public contact); Writing/composing reports and correspondence.
Other Requirements:
Travel between Harris Health System facilities.
Work Schedule:
Flexible
