Camp Mendocino Camp Mendocino is a residential summer camp located in Northern California, four hours north of San Francisco and spread over 2,000 acres. We provide transportation between San Francisco and Camp at the start and end of the summer. All Camp employees are expected to live, sleep and work at Camp. As a program of the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco (BGCSF), we are dedicated to providing children and teens with safe, fun places to learn and grow, with professional staff to offer support and guidance, serving as caring mentors and role models.

Position Purpose The Dining Hall & Dish Room Coordinator supervises the day-to-day functions of our on-site Camp dining operations. This position is responsible for ensuring that the dining hall and dish room are clean and functioning at all times.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain a clean dining hall, including dish washing, mopping and other cleaning on a daily basis

Set up for meals, clean up the dining hall space, and ensure dishes are clean after each meal

Hold high standards of cleanliness for the dining hall space

Supervise teens while working in the dining hall and ensure smooth running of dishwashing service

Other duties as specified by direct supervisor

Requirements Required Skills

Experience in maintaining a high level of cleanliness

Willingness to spend some time independently cleaning and organizing

Demonstrated ability to work effectively with coworkers

Ability to handle difficult or stressful situations in a professional manner

Being a strong role model

Excellent communication skills

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Preferred Skills

Experience working with youth in an overnight camp setting

Experience working with youth from disadvantaged circumstances

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift 50lbs.

Must be able to walk on uneven terrain for at least 3 miles

Must be able to stand for 8 hours (with breaks)

Must be able to work in temperatures ranging from 30° to 100°

Schedule

Temporary/Seasonal Summer position.

Applicants should be available June 12 - August 6, 2025 to work & live on-site at our Camp location in Northern California (Mendocino County).

Staff members work 40-56 hours/week depending on position with two days off per week. Days off vary per session.

Lodging Lodging is provided for all staff on site. The Dining Hall & Dish Room Coordinator will not be required to stay in a cabin with youth on a regular basis, but will be assigned bunk-style indoor housing that may be shared with up to 8 other staff members.

Pay The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and BGCSF needs. At BGCSF, our decisions are based on other factors and dependant on circumstances for each position. Depending on the need and requirement of the position, an individual could be hired at or near the entry level, mid - level or top of the range for their role and compensation. As such, a reasonable estimate for this temporary summer position from June 12 - August 6, 2026, is $4,195.
