Under direction of Program Manager, provide direct patient care and participate in therapeutic milieu within the scope of defined practice. Deliver direct patient care through group and individual counseling in accordance with current treatment plans. Clear, concise, and timely documentation; encounter forms and shift notes. Establish relationships with patients, maintaining professional boundaries. Participate in patient rounds or teams per program guidelines. Complete assigned patient care tasks per program guidelines. Intervene in managing complex patient situations. Remain awake and alert at all times while on the job. Work effectively to manage therapeutic milieu. Participate in leading and co‑leading patient groups. Provide and supervise community activities according to needs, including transporting patients to activities in hospital vehicles. Provide patients with direction and supervision as needed. Follow established program policies, procedures, and protocols. Assume leadership when functioning as charge counselor, delegating duties and providing supervision when needed. Communicate information regarding patient milieu/therapeutic environment to appropriate staff in a timely manner. Supervise patients in taking medication as prescribed. Report and document missed doses to appropriate staff. Communicate observations related to medication side effects and desired effects to appropriate medical staff in a timely manner. Support nursing staff in assisting patients in acquiring skills to successfully self‑medicate. Assist patients in activities of daily living. Identify patient's strengths and deficits related to ADL’s and initiate and implement interventions to meet these needs. Assess sleep patterns and assist patients to develop more appropriate sleep cycles, notifying clinical team as necessary. Assist patients in maintaining and keeping various appointments. Maintain a commitment to professional growth and competency. Complete mandatory in‑service requirements. Identify areas of strengths and areas needing improvement with supervisor. Maintain competency for treating age‑specific patient populations. Use supervision effectively to enhance professional growth and development. Attend and participate in rounds and case conferences when appropriate. Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred. One year patient care or related experience preferred, preferably in a psychiatric setting. Verbal and written communication skills; ability to work collaboratively. Driver's license (MA, CT, NH, NY, RI, VT) preferred; able to meet hospital driving standards. Certifications

Medication Administration Program Certification (SELECT PROGRAMS ONLY). Applicants not currently MAP certified must complete MAP certification within specified period. Basic computer skills to use electronic or online systems for clinical and administrative purposes. Complete electronic medical records training; demonstrate 80% accuracy on competency test within 30 days of hire. EEO Statement
