Specific duties include directing and managing property operations, maintenance, and administrative functions. The position may supervise other staff and reports to the Support Operations Division Chief within the J6 Information Directorate of the Texas Military Department (TMD). Employees work under limited supervision with significant latitude for initiative and independent judgment.
Responsibilities
Oversee all IT property management functions, including reporting, inventories, and processing procedures for equipment recovery.
Direct the negotiation, development, evaluation, and management of leases, permits, contracts, and other IT property agreements.
Assist in preparation and/or prepare financial statements and periodic reports on the status of IT properties, lease expirations, and related matters.
Oversee the purchasing of building and maintenance supplies, equipment, or furniture.
Participate with the solicitation of bids for maintenance contractors and IT projects.
Manage IT Asset Inventory Systems for TMD; serve as the Information Owner, overseeing implementation and conduct of the IT Asset Inventory Systems.
Manage, evaluate, and coordinate IT property management services and records.
Plan, schedule, manage, monitor, and coordinate general maintenance and major repairs of IT equipment and property.
Oversee supply or service contract management of IT procurements.
Manage the Life Cycle Management process of end‑user automation devices and peripherals for the Texas Army National Guard.
Manage day‑to‑day operations of the J6 IT Property Management Office and warehouse; direct customer service operations, storage, and issue operations of all non‑tactical IT assets for the Texas Army National Guard.
May supervise the work of others.
Perform related work as assigned.
Attend work regularly and observe approved work hours in accordance with agency state employee policies and procedures handbook.
May be required to perform duty in support of national emergencies, disasters, and other missions, including on holidays and weekends.
Qualifications
Education: Graduation from an accredited four‑year college or university is required.
Experience: Five (5) years of experience in property management or information technology management work.
Experience using Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel) is required.
Experience in Department of Defense logistics and supplies, including Global Combat Support System‑Army (GCSS‑Army), General Fund Enterprise Business System (GFEBS), Wide Area Workflow (WAWF), and Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS), is required.
Additional years of experience may substitute for required education on a year‑per‑year basis.
Registration, Certification or Licensure: A valid driver’s license is required. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas driver’s license within 30 days after entering Texas.
Background Investigation: Selected candidates must pass a federal security background investigation.
Eligibility to work in the U.S.: Must present proof of eligibility within three days of hiring.
