Overview East Bay Asian Local Development Corporation (EBALDC) – a nonprofit community development organization founded in 1975 – seeks a bilingual (Cantonese/English) Resident Services Coordinator to support residents in our Chinatown properties. The role emphasizes individualized support, community‑building, and partnership with local service providers to ensure residents, especially Chinese‑speaking seniors and families, remain stable and well‑supported.
About the Role Responsibilities include:
Provide individualized support with housing stability, public benefits, employment readiness, and basic financial literacy.
Respond to resident concerns such as mediation, conflict resolution, and crisis support.
Partner with local service providers to ensure culturally appropriate services (senior programs, food access, wellness programs).
Coordinate food distribution and connect residents experiencing food insecurity to local food banks.
Develop inclusive resident engagement strategies through outreach, meetings, and community events.
Facilitate workshops, orientations, and presentations in both English and Cantonese.
Collaborate with Property Management to support residents at risk of eviction or facing safety concerns.
Maintain accurate case notes and reporting in EBALDC’s data systems.
Qualifications – Resident Services Coordinator I
0–2 years’ experience in social services, community engagement, or housing‑based programs.
Requires closer supervision and training; may lead smaller resident programs.
Qualifications – Resident Services Coordinator II
2–4 years’ experience in social services, community engagement, or housing‑based programs.
Demonstrated ability to independently manage caseloads and resident activities with minimal supervision.
Shared Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, public health, or related field (equivalent experience considered).
Fluency in Cantonese (speaking, reading, and writing).
Strong written and oral communication skills in English.
Familiarity with immigrant‑serving resources and senior support programs.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and case‑management systems.
CPR/First Aid certification (training provided if not current).
Must pass DOJ and criminal background checks.
What You’ll Do (Summary)
Assess resident needs and make referrals to community resources.
Provide individualized support for housing stability, public benefits, employment, and financial coaching.
Implement conflict resolution and de‑escalation techniques for resident behavioral concerns.
Maintain accurate documentation, ensure HIPAA compliance, and prepare required reports.
Compensation and Benefits Salary Range: RSCI $51,450–$57,750 | RSCII $55,650–$65,100 (annual). EBALDC provides benefits including medical, dental, vision, LTD & life insurance, EAP, retirement, paid time off, CA paid sick leave, holidays, wellness days, and up to 100% coverage of employee premiums and 60% of dependent premiums.
