About the Role We are seeking a bilingual (Cantonese/English) Resident Services Coordinator (RSC I/II) to support residents at our Chinatown properties. The role provides individualized support, organizes community‑building activities, and partners with local service providers to ensure residents—particularly Chinese‑speaking seniors and families—have access to resources that support housing stability, health, and well‑being.

Position Summary The Resident Services Coordinator (RSC I/II) will play an essential role at EBALDC’s Chinatown properties, supporting primarily Chinese‑speaking residents, including seniors and families. This position requires fluency in Cantonese (reading, writing, and speaking) and a commitment to serving linguistically diverse, low‑income communities. The level of hire (RSC I vs. RSC II) will be determined based on candidate experience:

RSC I

– entry‑level, generally up to 2 years of related experience.

RSC II

– intermediate‑level, generally up to 4 years of related experience with demonstrated ability to manage caseloads independently.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Provide individualized support with housing stability, public benefits, employment readiness, and basic financial literacy.

Respond to resident concerns, including mediation, conflict resolution, and crisis support.

Partner with local service providers to ensure culturally appropriate services (e.g., senior programs, food access, wellness programs).

Coordinate food distribution and connect residents experiencing food insecurity to local food banks.

Develop inclusive resident engagement strategies through one‑on‑one outreach, resident meetings, and community events.

Facilitate workshops, orientations, and presentations in both English and Cantonese.

Collaborate with Property Management to support residents at risk of eviction or facing safety concerns.

Maintain accurate case notes and reporting in EBALDC’s data systems.

Qualifications Resident Services Coordinator I

0–2 years’ experience in social services, community engagement, or housing‑based programs.

Requires closer supervision and training; may lead smaller resident programs.

Resident Services Coordinator II

2–4 years’ experience in social services, community engagement, or housing‑based programs.

Demonstrated ability to independently manage caseloads and resident activities with minimal supervision.

Shared Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, public health, or related field (equivalent experience considered).

Fluency in Cantonese (speaking, reading, and writing).

Strong written and oral communication skills in English.

Familiarity with immigrant‑serving resources and senior support programs.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and case management systems.

CPR/First Aid certification (training provided if not current).

Must pass DOJ and criminal background checks.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Minimum 2+ years of experience in social services, housing support, or community‑based programs.

Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.

Strong written and oral communication skills.

Ability to manage conflicts and provide crisis intervention.

Cultural competency and experience working with diverse, low‑income communities.

Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Knowledge of Resident Services coordination best practices and trauma‑informed care principles.

Technical Proficiency

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Experience using data management systems for tracking resident services.

Knowledge of Salesforce preferred.

Certifications & Compliance

CPR & First Aid certification (provided by the organization if needed).

Must pass a criminal background check.

Safe food handling certification (provided by EBALDC if needed, renewed annually).

Salary Range RSC I $51,450–$57,750 | RSC II $55,650–$65,100 (Annually)

Travel Able to work at multiple building sites.
