Description Vital to the success of the organization by providing patients and visitors with a premier orthopaedic experience and focusing on their individual needs. Responsible for scheduling surgeries, tests and maintaining provider’s calendar.
Essential Job Functions
Provide excellent customer service to patients by addressing their concerns and providing necessary information per provider protocol.
Handle all aspects of scheduling patients’ testing, surgeries (post and pre-op), and procedures including insurance pre‑authorization.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, providers, co‑workers and external contacts.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
Performs other duties that may be necessary or in the best interest of the practice including assisting other members of the company.
Obtain necessary patient information and medical records for scheduling purposes in an electronic health records and practice management system.
Answer messages, emails, and/or voicemails in a timely manner.
Provide guidance to patients/caregivers on completing necessary forms and information.
Maintain/update physician(s) schedules and calendar(s).
Compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
Takes the initiative in performing additional tasks that may be necessary or in the best interest of the practice.
Requirements Education/Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Medical certification required with two to five years’ experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.
CPR/AED and First Aid Certification preferred.
Other Requirements: Must be patient care oriented with a team environment focus. Schedules will change as department needs change, including overtime and weekends. Weekly travel between locations.
Knowledge
