As our Lead Swim Instructor, your number one purpose is to assist in creating a fun and professional environment, one that will provide our customers and swimmers with a fantastic learning experience! You will work closely with the franchise owner and our swim instructors to help shape our school’s culture and commitment to running a premier swim program. In addition, you will play a big role in helping recruit new customers to the school and building retention to keep them with us!
To start, this will be a part-time position with a strong possibility of moving to a full-time position as we continue to grow and develop.
Working flexible hours, including a regular weekend day and evenings will be necessary along with visiting multiple pool locations within the assigned region.
In-depth training is provided on the British Swim School aquatics curriculum along with additional training to prepare you for your role!
Responsibilities
Reporting to and communicating directly with the Franchise Business Owner
Provide swim lessons to adults and children according to British Swim School curriculum
Training, supervising, developing, and retaining a dynamic team of swim instructors
Using instructor development tools, evaluate swim instructor performance and provide feedback and in-service training on a regular basis
Assisting Franchise Business Owner with retention, recruitment, hiring and interviews
Assist with incoming sales calls
Using BSS Instructor assessments to maintain lesson quality
Evaluating swim instructor performance and creating performance improvement plans as necessary
Offering guidance and support when managing difficult class situations
Ensure pool locations have proper inventory of supplies for lessons
Ensure that all water and safety standards are maintained at the pools
Protecting the Brand
Anticipated expanded responsibilities to coincide with franchise expansion
What are we looking for?
An individual with a passion and love of the water who wants to give back to their community and be a part of drowning prevention
Experience and enjoyment working with children
Experience in teaching preschool children
Supervisory experience in a similar setting and/or as a veteran
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Lifeguard certification is preferred but if not available or expired, will be provided

Schedule Classes offered on weekdays will occur mostly in the afternoons and evenings, while weekend classes will occur in the mornings.
